Digital Marketing Audit

Independent Digital Marketing Audit Services

A digital marketing audit brings every channel, vendor, and report a business relies on into one independent review — instead of evaluating each platform in isolation.

What a digital marketing audit is

A digital marketing audit is an independent review of how a business's marketing is planned, executed, tracked, and reported — and, where the data allows, how far that activity can be traced toward actual business outcomes. It is not a pitch for new services and it does not require handing over control of any account.

When a business should consider one

Common triggers include a new marketing spend that is difficult to evaluate, reporting that no longer seems to line up with what the business is experiencing, a change in leadership or ownership, the end of an agency contract, or simply the fact that marketing has never been reviewed by anyone outside the team running it.

Revenue reconciliation

Following performance past the platform metrics.

Where a business's systems and available data allow, the audit attempts to connect marketing activity with actual business outcomes rather than relying solely on advertising platform metrics.

  1. Marketing spend

    Budget committed across channels

  2. Traffic or interaction

    Clicks, calls, visits, impressions

  3. Lead

Form fill, call, chat, booking request

  4. Qualified lead

    Appointment or sales-ready opportunity

  5. Sale

    Closed deal or completed transaction

  6. Revenue

Recognized in the business’s own records

Where tracking is incomplete, this is typically where the trail from marketing activity to business outcome starts to break down.

Common problems this audit uncovers

  • Spend concentrated in channels that are not producing qualified leads
  • Conversion tracking that double-counts or misattributes results
  • Reporting that describes activity rather than business outcomes
  • SEO and paid channels competing for the same traffic without coordination
  • Landing pages that lose visitors before they can convert
  • No clear owner of the tracking and attribution setup

Who should get a digital marketing audit

Businesses spending meaningfully on marketing across more than one channel, businesses evaluating a new agency relationship, leadership teams inheriting a marketing program they did not build, and any business that cannot currently answer where its marketing dollars actually go.

What the client receives

Written findings, an executive summary, prioritized issues, recommended next actions, and a revenue reconciliation section where the available data permits it. See theHow It Works page for the full process.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from a free audit an agency offers?

A vendor-provided audit is usually built to justify that vendor’s continued involvement. Marketing Audit Co. has no stake in which agency, vendor, or platform a business uses afterward, so the findings are not shaped by what happens next commercially.

Do you need admin access to every platform?

The audit is scoped around whatever access is available. More access generally allows a deeper review, but a meaningful audit can often be performed with read-only or reporting-level access where full admin access is not possible.

Will this audit tell me to fire my agency?

No. The audit reports what was found. In some cases that supports the current agency or team. In other cases it identifies real problems. Either outcome is a legitimate result of an independent review.

How long does a digital marketing audit take?

Timing depends on the number of channels, accounts, and vendors involved, and how much historical data needs to be reviewed. Scope and an estimated timeline are confirmed after the initial consultation described on the How It Works page.

Digital marketing audit

Do not have time to audit your entire digital marketing operation yourself?

A full digital marketing audit brings the channels, reporting, tracking, vendors, and business outcomes together so you can see the larger picture instead of evaluating each platform in isolation.
